HTC Phones - Android OS Running On Samsung Omnia Cell Phone

We have post Android OS Running On HTC Touch Pro And HTC Touch Diamond, and now Android OS can run On Samsung Omnia cell phone. It’s pretty awesome, huh? And the andromnia 0.3.1 alpha for Omnia is available from modaco.

Some new features in andromnia 0.3.1:

• SGH-i900 specific kernel based on 2.6.29 (sgh-i910 should also work)
• Basic battery support (no fake driver needed, but still not full detected by Android)
• Basic touchscreen support (freezing randomly)
• Full 128MB RAM support
• Some buttons working (phone down (=back), volume up/down)

HTC Phones - HTC Hero, The First Android Smartphone With Flash

The new HTC Hero Android phone comes out with Flash. This is awesome news for Android phones! Is there going to be a Flash Lite app on Android Marketplace? Maybe.

And David Wadhwani, vice president and general manager, Platform Business Unit at Adobe also said:

“As the first Android device with Flash, the new HTC Hero represents a key milestone for Android and the Flash Platform. With close to 80 percent of all videos online delivered with Adobe Flash technology, consumers want to access rich Web content on-the-go. The collaboration with HTC offers people a more complete Flash based Web browsing experience today and presents an important step towards full Web browsing with Flash Player 10 on mobile phones in the future.”

HTC Phones - Android OS Running On HTC Touch Pro and HTC Touch Diamond

The Google Android OS is getting increasingly popular now. More and more manufacturer launch their Android Phones to expand the phones market. And do you want to DIY your own Android Phones? Someone have released Android package running on the HTC Touch Pro and HTC Touch Diamond. Although it doesn’t yet work well, it’s a good beginning. Right?

This isn’t ready for prime time yet. There is a lot of hardware support missing as I write this (e.g. no suspending or powering off, no Bluetooth, WiFi, or anything but plain GSM [GPRS, 3G, etc], no accelerometer, no sound [and no sound I/O in calls, so you can't hear or be heard], no cameras, et cetera).
