It’s time to update Android to Cupcake 1.5. Do you receive the cupcake update? T-Mobile USA had provided an update on the rollout of Android 1.5 for T-Mobile G1 customers. And the rollout schedule has been reset by approximately a week. So hope that is a perfect update.

Who is Andy Rubin? Maybe you have no idea. But you should know Android Phones and Android OS. Yes, he is Google‘s director of mobile platforms. Android OS is well known no, but what’s the future? Let’s check out Tom’s interview.

Q: How do you reconcile the goals of staying open with the need to offer carriers their own experience and the compatibility problems that may come as a part of that?
Rubin: There will be a couple of launches; we’ve generated a lot of interest in China. The use cases in China are slightly different in the U.S.; typically in China, because of the Asian input, people prefer a pen-based interface rather than a capacitive-touch based interface because they expect a stylus to be able to draw the complex characters. So the use case has completely changed but we have achieved compatibility.
