HTC Phones - Android Apps: ChatON, Grand Theft Auto III, Vignette and Google Translate

Here is a quick look at some of the latest apps that you can download for your Android smartphone.

ChatON

Android is certainly not short on instant messaging apps and ChatON definitely falls into this category. It lets you chat with friends, share media including photos and videos and do all this without eating into your SMS allowance. You will need to consider the amount of data it may use up but if you have a Wi-Fi network available it will be free to converse with buddies. Although the Android version of ChatON is the first to hit the market there will eventually be versions compatible with other mobile platforms, which means you will be able to interact with friends who own iPhones and BlackBerry handsets in the future.

Grand Theft Auto III

If you have a dual core Android smartphone like the Samsung Galaxy S2 or HTC Sensation then you should be pleased to hear that this November you will be able to buy Grand Theft Auto III, the classic third person sandbox action game which was released a decade ago on the PlayStation 2. While taking to the streets of liberty city in a violent, story-driven game was previously only possible in the comfort of your living room, this port proves that smartphone hardware has come on in leaps and bounds, making it possible to run the advanced 3D graphics on a portable Android handset.
