HTC Phones - CyanogenMod 6.0 (Android 2.2 Froyo) Testing On T-Mobile G1

CyanogenMod 6.0, a new Android 2.2 ROM supporting T-Mobile G1, has just released. Chris Soyars shows off CyanogenMod 6.0 running on a T-Mobile G1 (HTC Dream). Although it is still a test0 version, it works smooth. Can’t wait.

HTC Phones - Get Google Maps Navigation On T-Mobile G1

Some great folks at xda-developers have ported Google Maps Navigation onto G1 Dream. It’s perfect. If you want to try, get it from here. In addition, your T-Mobile G1 needs to run on CyanogenMod 4.2.3.1.

Then do as following:

1. Unzip zip to desktop
2. Run Part 1.bat
3. When prompted to press any key, do so; the phone will reboot
4. When your phone is running again, run Part 2.bat
5. When prompted to press any key, the installation process is done.
6. Make sure GPS is enabled
7. Open Maps and press OK
8. Press Menu
9. Press Directions
10. Enter an end point
11. Click Go
12. Just under “Show on map”, click Navigate.
13. When prompted to install the voice codec, do so.
14. Enjoy

HTC Phones - T-Mobile G1 Cell Phone Sells 1 Million

From the G1 first release in October 2008, T-Mobile has sold 1 million G1 Android phones. Although it’s tiny for T-Mobile, but I think it will be increase. Learn more from Telephony Online.
